Gallery of Distinguished Graduates (portrait session)
October 29, 2007
Every year around Homecoming at GWU, a unique event presents itself. It is the Galley of Distinguished Graduates. These are alumni who, throughout the course of their lives, have achieved remarkable and interesting accomplishments. And oh my, what entertaining stories they all share about either their time at GWU and/or throughout their lives. Especially, love stories at GWU, those are a hoot.
I had the distinct opportunity to take portraits of them all, and below are a selected few. This portrait session was interesting for me, because it was my first attempt at a portable background setup (provided by Prof. Bob Carey). As Professional Photographer Joe McNally would say, “we have achieved a very accomplished looking portrait.”
And that’s how I feel about these shown photos. I hope I have presented these Distinguished Graduates well and in a very accomplished portrait, and portrayed the respect they deserve.
ENJOY!

Bulldoll COACHES…Stetson and Christy
October 25, 2007
Wow. I just keep posting new and exciting stuff. It’s fun. I think I’m addicted to this whole blog thing, AND who wouldn’t be?! Haha.
In this post, I would like to introduce to you, the official GWU Bulldoll Coaches; Christy and Stetson. Two ladies whom I have had the distinct honor and privelege of photographing and hanging out with. They are awesome ladies and their kindness, is totally out-of-this world. And Stetson is a Britney Spears dancing fool.
Ahem, let me clarify. She may not like that Spears girl, but that new single….it came on the radio in the studio and Stetson just let loose. I tried to capture her dancing, but she was moving so fast, I couldn’t get a focus lock. Of course, that’s poor photographer skills, but HEY, I was laughing too.
Anywhoo. Enjoy these new photos….and thanks for the love and support!!! More individual photos of Stetson and Christy to come soon…

Brandon, Michelle, and baby “Beanie”
October 23, 2007
What a perfect combination…fall and babies. Haha. So, in this post, I would love to share some recent photos of baby Beanie, and the parents of this little bundle of joy. Beanie, aka Elizabeth, literally does not like cameras. Of course, she will grow into them, but for now, a photo subject she is not. Everytime the lens was pointed at her, no smiles and a little fussy. And then when I previewed the photo, she’s all smiles and playful and giddy.
Oh, but I was able to capture a few moments of cuteness from this cute one. I hope you enjoy them, because she is so precious and her parents are some of the kindest people I have ever had the privelege of pointing my camera at.
Much Love to them!

Earl Scruggs…the farewell. (photos)
October 19, 2007
Okay, question. Who has ever heard of Earl Scruggs?
Well, I consider myself one of those non-sheltered boys growing up, but even as that is true, I have never heard of Earl Scruggs. Not to long ago, I had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to photograph his farewell concert in Shelby, NC. (He’s a native of Boiling Springs, NC and a GWU Honorary Doctorate recipient.) Let me tell ya, this man is in his eighties and he can still play. Oh yes…this man, has got rhythm in his fingers and no banjo or guitar will ever be silenced, if it is within his grasp.
This man is the Elvis of Country music. The Johnny Cash of Bluegrass music and he continues to rock the house wherever he plays.
This was an amazing event for me and I consider myself only one of the millions to be truly blessed and entertained from Earl’s music.
Thanks Earl.
