The Night of the Lunar.

February 22, 2008

It seems like I have a tendency to always post on Fridays.  Hmmm.  Why is that?  Because, it’s FRIDAY!  ”Doon’t cha know.” (as Bobby’s mom would say on “Bobby’s World.”)

One of my bestest friends, EVER, told me I should post these on my blog.  Thanks for the support JOSH!

The following images were taken Tuesday night in Boiling Springs, NC, during the Lunar Eclipse.  I didn’t get much of the actual shadow from the Earth, but I still like what came out.

I couldn’t be with my Kristen that night, so I took them for her.

 ENJOY!

Bridal Portraits…of Amanda.

February 12, 2008

I am truly amazed with some of the people I have met in my life.  And I find myself uniquely humbled, when asked to photograph some of those people.  A few weeks ago, I was asked to photograph a young lady that truly has opened a door for me in photography, and not just in photography, but also in my presentation of that photography.

The newly wed, Amanda Hinson, asked for me to photograph not just her special day in marriage, but also her Bridal Portraits.  Talk about a blessing.  Talk about an opportunity.  Talk about a fun day!

I met with her and her mother at the Hamrick-Goode House in Boiling Springs, NC, and we used a few areas inside the house for her Bridal Portraits.  Oh, so many shots were taken that day.  And a lot of laughter.

As a grow in my presentation of my photography, I am finding it hard to point out my absolute favorites.  So, I decided in this blog post to show a mixture of color, black and white, and faded/dark enriched colors.

I want to give you all a small taste of just how amazing Amanda was to photograph and how she has opened a door for me in perfecting my creativity, as well as, experimenting with some new approaches.

Thank you so much for taking the time to see these images.  There are tons more and I cannot wait for Amanda to see them all.  Until next time.  Blessings….

The Hinson Wedding….FOOD!

February 8, 2008

TGIF!  Oh, it’s February and the sun is out, and the warm weather feels so nice.  I’ve got my coffee and I am ready to post something new.  As I stated previously, I would be posting some wedding photos real soon.  Well, consider the following a teaser, no, an “appetizer” to that wedding.

It was the wedding of Mr. & Mrs. Hinson,  dear friends of mine at GWU.  This amazing couple, my oh my, had a feast at their house.  The wedding and reception, both, were hosted at their new home in Polkville.

During that evening, I had a chance to meet a very kind lady, Ginger.  She is the owner and chef/baker for her business, “The Ginger Bread House.”  (thegingerbreadhouse.org)  I took so many photos that night and much were of the food that Ginger provided.  I don’t think I have ever witnessed such delightful color in food before.  How could a photographer resist taking these photos.

So, for today’s post I am featuring a small portion of my favorites of Ginger’s entrees.  I also enclosed a gerber daisy photo for the love of my life, Kristen.

ENJOY!

And be looking for another wedding post coming real soon!
