Greetings.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the distinct honor, and pleasure, to work beside, as well as assist, a “one-of-a-kind” photographer.  Rob and I met during Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk back in the early fall and have been communication ever since.  Rob, operates and owns, Towner-Jones Photography based just outside of Washington, DC.  I truly appreciate and value our friendship and like I said, it was indeed an honor to work with him.

The photos below are just a small glimpse into the exciting day we had when photographing Ricky and Laura.  I was mainly a third pair of eyes for Rob, as his wife was also assisting him, as well.  Ricky and Laura were truly excited that day and even so, their little boy was especially excited, especially when his mommy was holding him.

I hope your enjoy these photos and be on the look out for another blog entry coming soon, as I also had the opportunity to work aside another notorious photographer this past weekend.

Take care and blessings.

Matt and Tracy.

September 23, 2008

I truly enjoy my clients that become amazing friends for a lifetime.  I met this fun loving couple back at my alma mater, Gardner-Webb University, and just recently I had the true honor of taking their engagement photos and what a day it was!

I miss Gardner-Webb and the people I have grown to love there, but I consider myself blessed when I am able to see my fellow Bulldogs here in Lynchburg.

Matt and Tracy, I truly enjoyed our day together and I wish you both so much of God’s blessing in your life.

Thank you and enjoy your photos!  Blessings.

A daisy for my wife.

September 22, 2008

My wife’s favorite flower is a daisy.  In fact, every time I have given her the gift of daisies I have seen her beautiful face light up, her smile become bright, and I have felt her joy.

May the flowers of the Earth never stop their bloom and may the doves continue to sing.  (Song of Solomon 2:12)

I love to create artistic images.  In fact, it is my joy to do so.  However, there are times when an original is already artistic.

I dedicate this image to my wife.

Matt and Tracy, a teaser.

September 15, 2008

These two totally made my day on Saturday.  I’m just so excited for them and I was blessed to be in their company this past weekend.  So, here is a teaser photo of them and be on the look out for the full post coming soon.  Blessings.

I find it difficult to write in words how deeply honored I am to have photographed a lovely bride.  In the previous post my wife, Kristen, wrote a beautiful story followed by some of my photographs of her co-worker Brooke Hayden.  I would like to take the opportunity to post a few more.  These photographs were actually taken the night before our scheduled shoot with Brooke, just kind of something to do late at night.

I truly hope you enjoy them.  Blessings.

We take for granted people.  People, in the sense of their God given personalities and talents; distinctively given by the Almighty.  Our eyes are mini-camera’s focusing and developing the life that God has ordained for each coming day.

The pictures you are about to view are a story, which does not need to be told by words but simply by your eyes.  The young woman in these photos has a special story.  Her personality is vibrant and full of life, her smile depicts her sincerity and her heart is portrayed within these pictures.

It was November 29, 2008, Brooke and Jay were in Vegas, exchanging vows to one another, promising to always love, care and cherish one another until death do them part.  The moment was unexplainable, the excited hearts, glistening starry eyes, and safekeeping presence filled both of their lives that moment.  Then, March 18th, 2008, John Joseph Hayden was to embark in his biggest battle yet…leaving his cherished Bride to fight for our Country, to keep us all safe so that we can all have excited hearts, glistening starry eyed, safekeeping moments.

As they both embraced their last kiss and hug for an enduring while…they both knew in their hearts, God had personally assigned these roles to each of them.  He gave them both the talent and personality to endure this battle of distance.  At this very moment, Jay is stationed in Iraq, sacrificing to keep us safe.   At this moment, Brooke is the constant encourager to her husband to her peers and they are both faithful to God’s calling.

They never had time for an actual wedding, so Brooke is planning a wedding celebration, were when Jay returns home in Mid-October, his Bride will be waiting for his arrival and they will both renew their vows once again before the Lord, as a reminder of His Faithfulness and Love for them and all people.

These pictures are a gift from Christopher and Kristen Breedlove who have had the honor and privilege of capturing the life of a Marine Wife…

We are so excited for Jay’s return…until then, here is Brooke…the Wife of a Marine, a Hero, she is the…. Lady in Waiting.

Greetings.

This past Saturday (August 23rd) was such a highlight for me this month.  Scott Kelby, the Jedi Knight of Adobe Photoshop, brought forth an idea for amateur and professional photographers from all over the world to gather in a united event.  The whole concept for this event was for all these photographers to basically grab their camera for a couple of hours, meet other photographers at a designated location, walk around that location for two hours, take lots of photos, and just basically have fun.  No rhyme or reason really, other than to meet and greet and have fun.

Well, I traveled to Charlottesville, Virginia, with a new friend of mine, Joel Coleman, a creative photographer from Liberty University, and I must say we had a blast.  We met one of the nicest and all around cool photographer close to Washington DC, Mr. Rob Jones, owner of Towner Jones Photography.  In fact, Rob was our leader for this “photowalk” location at the University of Virginia.

I am deeply honored and ecstatic that the following photo won Honorable Mention this past Saturday, in Charlottesville, and is now joined alongside many other Honorable Mention photos from all over the world.

I also wanted to share some more of my favorite images from this past “photowalk” and I am so excited for this event again, coming in December.  I hope you enjoy.  Until next time.  Blessings.

Her story.  Her photos.  Coming Soon…

Greetings.

I know it’s been some time since my last full post, but have no fear I am back with some “rockin” new photos.

I would like to introduce to you, Carl Cartee, Christian singer/song writer extraodianare from Nashville, TN.  For those of you who aren’t familiar with his work, check out his website and you can also iTUNES him, as well.  I love this guy and I truly value our friendship.  Before, I left North Carolina, I offered to take some updated photos of him on stage and a few in the studio, and let me tell you…what a way to say goodbye to Gardner-Webb.  Oh, it was such a blessing for me to take these photos.

Carl, is one of the most awesome and most talented, not to mention most generous and kindest, and most rockin’ worship leaders ever, with a true heart and calling from the Lord.  I also wanted to include his wife, Heather Cartee in this photo set.  Heather’s voice is unmatched and they both compliment each other so well when they sing together.  Both of them have voices for God and they truly rock out for Him!

I hope you enjoy them!  Until next time…blessings!
